Job Description To prepare for and provide individual tutorials to undergraduate students in writing, reading, study skills and specific course content. Tutors learn about and work with diverse learners: traditionally aged students, non-traditional students, students with learning disabilities or attention disorders, and second language or international students. Tutors have a high degree of responsibility in designing tutoring strategies and implementing them; they work with sensitive information that must be kept confidential. Tutors must also attend a weekly tutor forum for training and professional development. There may be other general duties as directed by the staff at the CAA to carry out its mission.

Applicants must have completed at least 30 credits of coursework in order to apply. This position requires strong academic, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of the writing process and research skills (including internet basics). Previous tutoring experience is helpful. Applicant must be recommended by a faculty member and interview with the Associate Director of the Center for Academic Achievement.
