Job Description To prepare for and provide individual tutorials to undergraduate and graduate students in writing, reading, study skills, and program-specific assignments. Tutors learn about working with diverse learners including non-traditional students, students with learning disabilities or attention disorders, and second language or international students. Tutors have a high degree of responsibility in designing tutoring strategies and implementing them; they work with sensitive information that must be kept confidential. Tutors must also attend a weekly tutor forum for training and professional development. The staff at the Center for Academic Achievement (CAA) may assign other duties necessary to carry out its mission.

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at Lesley University in order to apply. This position requires strong academic, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of the writing process and research skills (including the basics of computer and internet usage). Previous tutoring experience is helpful. Applicant must be recommended by a faculty member and attend an interview with the Associate Director of the Center for Academic Achievement.
